Do you want to play an important role in strengthening Sweden's preparedness?

Everyone in Sweden should have safe food and safe drinking water – even in times of crisis or war. Here, the Swedish Food Agency plays a crucial role as the sector-responsible authority for the preparedness sector of food supply and drinking water. We are now looking for someone who, with creativity and enthusiasm, wants to strengthen Sweden's preparedness.

Why the Swedish Food Agency?

As the sector-responsible authority, the Swedish Food Agency leads the work of coordinating measures before and during peaceful crisis situations and heightened preparedness in the preparedness sector of food supply and drinking water. The preparedness sector includes the Swedish Food Agency, county administrative boards, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, the Swedish Board of Agriculture, and the Swedish Veterinary Authority. Cooperation between the authorities in the preparedness sector is characterized by a strong commitment and a willingness to build Sweden's preparedness together.

Your role

Together with colleagues and other actors, you will contribute to developing and driving the work within the preparedness sector. You will participate in projects, support our experts, and contribute to our work to ensure the safety and resilience of society during crises.

A large part of the work will consist of coordination and collaboration, primarily with other government authorities, within the preparedness sector as well as internally. You will prepare, conduct, and follow up on meetings within the preparedness sector; prepare and respond to consultations; and be responsible for ensuring that there is a clear process, meeting structure, and long-term planning and methodology for following up on the joint sector work.

You should be able to represent the Swedish Food Agency and the preparedness sector within the civil preparedness system. You contribute to the development of working methods and routines and gather new perspectives for the work area through good environmental monitoring. For us, environmental monitoring is part of being successful in reaching out with our expertise and developing in our roles.

Unit for Sector and Cooperation

In the unit for sector and cooperation, we lead and coordinate the Swedish Food Agency's responsibility as the sector-responsible authority in the preparedness sector of food supply and drinking water. We work to strengthen civil preparedness through coordination within our preparedness sector, with other preparedness sectors, and with other actors such as the Armed Forces and NATO. We work creatively and adaptively with the goal in focus. We have enthusiasm for the task, are responsive to the changing demands of the environment, and our work is characterized by courage, joy, and a lack of pretentiousness.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in a field that the employer considers relevant for the position. We believe you are relatively new to the workforce but have experience working in a government agency. You are familiar with working in the Swedish civil preparedness system. We would like you to have previous experience of collaboration with actors within the preparedness system in Sweden. You have experience planning and preparing meetings; as well as responding to consultations. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as good knowledge of English. It is an advantage if you have knowledge/experience of working with or within our preparedness sector. It is also advantageous if you are used to speaking in public and conducting workshops or training sessions.

Your personal qualities

As a person, you find it easy to engage, build relationships, and create trust. You are creative, driven, and communicative while being attentive and able to understand others' needs. You express yourself clearly in writing. It is important that you enjoy contexts where you represent the organization, whether it is at a meeting table or from a stage. You can plan your own work and are accustomed to taking advantage of and learning from experiences.

To succeed in your work, you act responsibly, collaboratively, and developmentally. You are solution-focused and invite and are open to collaborations and new perspectives that improve our deliveries. You enjoy working in teams and are open to new working methods, sharing skills and lessons to strengthen our collective ability. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
